About the university

Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech), founded in 1949, is the only public institute of technology in Washington. It is a technical community college that offers six bachelor’s degrees, 47 associate degrees and 89 professional certificates in 44 fields of study. Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities at the associate and bachelor degree level. Campus life at LWTech is quite unique; as it is open to students, faculty, staff and community members; in addition to the many activities to get involved in such as; joining or staring a student club or volunteering with academic programs.

Redmond is a city in King County, Washington, United States, located 16 miles (26 km) east of Seattle, within the high-tech enclave of Seattle metropolitan area. Redmond is commonly recognized as the home of Microsoft and Nintendo of America. With an annual bike race on city streets and the state's only velodrome, Redmond is also known as the "Bicycle Capital of the Northwest.
