About the university

Located in the famously-beautiful city of Victoria, British Columbia, Camosun College serves around 20,000 students as they train for careers in arts, sciences, business, and health and human services. Founded in 1914, the community college has continued to grow over the years to include two campuses, various student clubs and organizations, and five varsity sports teams. Students will find all the services they've come to expect from a standard college, including a library, a bookstore, dining options, fitness and recreation facilities, career counseling, and even a dental clinic. International students are welcomed to the college and matched with host families who help each student integra

te into life in Canada, and staff at Camosun are always available to make sure visiting students are connected to the resources they need. Some of the most popular courses of study include business, computer engineering, ESL, health and human services, math, and exercise science, and Camosun works with students to pair them with local businesses for contract or co-op training. During their time at Camosun, students will have the privilege of living in one of Canada's premier tourist destinations. Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, sits on Vancouver Island across from the US state of Washington and is reachable by ferry. Once on the island, students will find Victorian architecture everywhere they look, most notable in the stately Parliament House and the Craigdarroch Castle, both of which are open to visitors who can tour the buildings and, in the case of Parliament, sit in on a session. The main part of town, located just ten minutes west of the Lansdowne Campus and fifteen minutes south of the Interurban campus, offers all sorts of cultural adventures. Students can take a walk through Chinatown and sample international cuisines, explore the Royal BC Museum or the Royal London Wax Museum, or feel like a royal while enjoying high tea at the Empress Hotel. A short bus ride north brings students to one of the most famous gardens in the world, Butchart Gardens, which with its decadent array of colors provides a feast for the senses. Closer to town, the urban Beacon Hill park offers quiet spots for study as well as areas for recreation and socialization. Since Victoria is known for its safety and walkability, students can easily explore the city on foot as they settle into life at Camosun College.
