EC Language Centres
EC Learning Centers has more than 30 schools in eight different countries, including the US, the UK, Ireland, Canada, Malta, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. With an accreditation from all the major language-learning agencies, and with prestigious awards from organizations such as the Study Travel Star Awards, the EC name has become synonymous with a quality English language education. EC works to help each student meet their language goals with personalized learning programs, with lessons that play on each student's strengths and improve their weaknesses, and by fostering relationships with fellow students from the very beginning. This specialized, award-winning treatment is so affirming and helpful that it's been given the name "The Orange Carpet Experience." Students will be able to choose from General or Intensive English classes; Business English; University Pathways; an academic semester or year; or studying for the IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, or Cambridge English exams. While most locations include the option to stay at a residence hall or apartment complex, EC also carefully vets host families who can help students better adjust to life in their host country.
The EC San Francisco campus offers students the chance to study American English in the beautiful and progressive city by the Bay. At this campus, students can choose to study General or Intensive English, either in an academic year or in a more limited time frame, or they can focus on the English skills that best suit their chosen profession or university coursework. A unique "English in Action" program gives students the opportunity to practice their English in a real-world business environment, preparing them for their future careers. The campus is located on California Street, the same street as the famous cable car line, inside the financial district. From campus, students will be able to walk to the restaurants, shops, and entertainment of Pier 39, as well as to Chinatown. The ferry to Alcatraz leaves from Pier 33, a quick 20 minute walk from EC, and public transportation makes it easy to travel a little further to Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, and Golden Gate Park. Music lovers will enjoy exploring nearby Haight-Ashbury, and of course no trip to San Francisco is complete with crossing the Golden Gate Bridge to the other side of the Bay. San Francisco is alive with culture, history, and technological enterprises, making EC San Francisco the perfect setting to learn English and move towards a brighter future.
City Name | San Francisco , California
Population: 837,422
San Francisco is a coastal city in Northern California. It has an interesting history as a focal point in the California Gold Rush, which brought rapid expansion to the population in the 1800s. In the early 1900s, three quarters of the city were destroyed by earthquake and fire, though the city bounced back and was quickly rebuilt just a few years later. Today, it is a center of liberal activism in the United States and strongly supports equal rights. It also has one of the highest quality of life rankings in the country and is a popular tourist destination, featuring landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the former Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary.
