Ecole Quebec Monde
For students who want to live in one of Canada's most picturesque cities while receiving a quality French education, Ecole Quebec Monde offers a French immersion program that can be tailored to meet specific students' needs. For 36 years, EQM has been operating as a non-profit that has earned the approval of Languages Canada and has attracted experienced teachers who are trained in the communicative method. Students are able to choose to study in a group of three to eight students, by themselves with a private tutor, or in a program that combines both group and individual study. Since EQM is an immersion program, international students are given accommodations with a host family who will help them practice their French outside of the classroom, further assisting them in improving their vocabulary and increasing their level of proficiency .
Studying at EQM affords students the opportunity to live in friendly Quebec City, a smaller and more charming alternative to bustling Montreal but with just as many modern amenities. The campus sits on a quiet commercial street, across from Saint Roch Cathedral and surrounded by shopping and dining options. Around the corner students will find Jean-Paul-L'Allier Garden, the perfect spot for studying and relaxing in between classes. All of Quebec City's famous sites, such as the Chateau Frontenac, the Old Quebec Funicular, Montmorency Park and Waterfall, Battlefields Park, and the Terrasse Dufferin, are within walking distance of campus and less than ten minutes by car. Due to the safety of Quebec City and the pedestrian-friendly streets of the old city, students will be able to enjoy all Quebec City has to offer while practicing their French with the city's hospitable and outgoing residents.

Though Canada is largely an English-speaking country, the province of Quebec is a French-speaking enclave full of fascinating culture and history. Quebec City is the capital of the province, situated on the St. Lawrence River where the weather brings warm summers and beautiful, snowy winters. The European history of the area is apparent in its architecture, from the stone fortifications that surround the old city to the winding cobblestone streets full of quaint cafes. Below the fortifications and along the waterfront lies the lower part of the city, connected to the upper part by famed steep staircases as well as a funicular. Visitors can walk along the Terrasse Dufferin while taking in views of the river, studying the history of the city at Battlefields Park, and basking in the luxurious architecture of the Chateau Frontenac and Notre-Dame de Québec Cathedral. Quebec City also has plenty of modern amenities, including various sports teams, skyscrapers such as Le Concorde, and multiple business districts, as well as green spaces such as Park Victoria and Montmorency Falls. The city is the perfect marriage of old-world European charm and modern commercial success, all within the hospitable and safe atmosphere of Canada's eastern seaboard.
