Atpal Languages
The city of Montreal has the unique advantage of being one of the most bilingual cities in Canada, with the majority of residents speaking both French and English, as well as being the second largest French-speaking city in the world after Paris. ATPAL Languages in Montreal uses this rich linguistic heritage to train students in both French and English. The ATPAL system, which has proven to be 30% more efficient than traditional language-learning methods, teaches students to aim for fluency through the steps of information processing, automation, creation, and production. Courses offered include either part-time or intensive French and English lessons, one-on-one tutoring, or summer camps that help young students ages 7-15 with their language skills while also engaging in fun activities and excursions. Accommodations at ATPAL include student residence halls, shared apartments, private apartments, and home stays where students can live with either a French or English-speaking family.
While out and about in Montreal, students will have plenty of time to practice their language skills with locals, either in French or in English. The ATPAL campus is located downtown and next to a Metro stop, so exploring the city is possible on foot or by public transportation. The area around the campus has restaurants, museums, and historic cathedrals. Just five minutes away on foot is the Place Ville Marie Observatory where visitors can get a birds eye view of the city. Less than ten minutes by car is the Mount Royal Park area with its lake, bike trails, and Mt. Royal itself from which the city draws its name. On the opposite slope of the mountain is beautiful Saint Joseph's Oratory with its famously-large dome. The history, culture, and languages of Montreal provide a welcoming experience for students working to learn French or English at ATPAL.
