Humboldt Institute
Over their 42 years of experience, the Humboldt Institute has successfully taught more than 78,000 students from 160 countries. Their students also score higher than average on the TestDaF. With these types of success rates, students can choose to study at the Humboldt Institute with the assurance that they are receiving the best German language education with the most experienced teachers. Drawing on the idea that immersion makes for the best education, students are placed in an all-inclusive program with pre-arranged accommodations, board, and an active social program. Humboldt is comprised of eighteen different campuses, fourteen with summer programs only and four with year round programs. Both adults and teenagers can take courses at a variety of intensities, with special summer courses for teens located in smaller towns, and both can also study for a variety of exams. Prospective university students can practice for their entrance exams, students 10-17 can study for the TELC German exams, and adults can study for the Test DaF exam.
With the all-inclusive package at Humboldt comes a leisure program that takes advantage of each city's sites and amenities. This means students will get to experience museums, the theater, concerts, German movies, and outdoor activities such as tennis and swimming, all planned by a social coordinator who knows the ins and outs of the city. In Constance, a small city in southern Germany on a lake of the same name, outdoor activities abound including rock climbing, windsurfing, and water skiing. Gothic and medieval architecture complete with frescoes are found around the city in a well-preserved state, giving students a look back into the past. On Saturdays, trips outside the city to places such as Freiburg, the Alps, and Stuttgart are offered for students who want to explore the surrounding region. While studying at the Institute, students stay on campus in a residence hall, either in a single room or a double room, and students are always paired with a roommate from a different country in order to foster communication in German only. For a more well-rounded experience, students are able to split their time between Constance and the bustling capital city of Berlin.
