The International School of English Ireland - ISE, Waterford, Ireland

The International School of English Ireland has been providing a quality English language education since 1997. Experienced teachers facilitate fun and lively lessons that keep students engaged while developing their skills, and regular assessments help teachers pinpoint how to best assist each individual student. As an accredited school with ACELS and a Trinity College of London test center, ISE is able to draw students from over 30 countries to its two locations in Dublin and Waterford. Students are able to choose the intensity of their General English courses as well as study for the IELTS and Cambridge exams. ISE in Waterford also offers helpful extracurricular activities such as a Job Club which aids students in planning for their future. The city of Waterford is the oldest city in Ireland, founded by the Vikings in 914, and thankfully much of its history has been preserved. With the ISE campus just minutes from bus stops, students are able to take public transportation to explore the ancient parts of the city. Reginald's Tower, part of a Viking fortress, sits near the seaport, and both the Waterford Museum of Treasures and the adjacent Medieval Museum house artifacts from the earliest settlements in the area. The eponymous House of Waterford Crystal offers tours so visitors can see how the world-famous crystal is made, and the Waterford Greenway offers 46 km of trails for exercise and relaxation. The ISE campus is near many restaurants, allowing students to sample the food scene, and nearby cafes give students a chance to catch up on studying in a peaceful atmosphere. Though students can stay in a university-style residence hall, they are encouraged to immerse themselves in the English language by staying with a local family through the homestay program.
