Malaca Instituto
As a Study Travel Superstar Award winner, the Malaca Institute has made a standout name for itself in Spanish language education. By combining traditional, structured learning with interactive games and role play, teachers are able to encourage students to speak from the very beginning. Classroom experiences are extended into outside activities and excursions as students taste what it's like to live fully immersed in Spanish language and culture. Courses offered include intensive and super-intensive General Spanish, DELE exam prep, Business Spanish, Hispanic Studies, and a University Access class. Students between the ages of fifteen and twenty can join a spring or summer intensive vacation course, and students with a good grasp on the language can apply for an internship at a local business. All courses include examinations to test students' grasp of the material and to award certificates that track students' progress on their Spanish-speaking journey.
The Malaca Institute is located near the beaches of Malaga, Spain. As a port city, Malaga attracted a variety of ancient civilizations, so now it's home to Roman, Phoenician, and Moorish ruins along with Renaissance cathedrals. The warm, Mediterranean climate allows residents to exercise outdoors by playing in the water or hiking to one of the hilltop citadels, and students can soak up Spanish culture by visiting art museums and learning about Malaga-native Pablo Picasso. The Spanish food, art, culture, and history of Malaga comes together with the Malaca Institute's top-tier curriculum in order to create the perfect immersive experience.
City Name | Malaga
Population: 569,005
Málaga is a port city on southern Spain’s Costa del Sol, known for its high-rise hotels and resorts jutting up from yellow-sand beaches. Looming over that modern skyline are the city’s 2 massive hilltop citadels, the Alcazaba and ruined Gibralfaro, remnants of Moorish rule. The city's soaring Renaissance cathedral is nicknamed La Manquita ("one-armed lady") because one of its towers was curiously left unbuilt. Loaded with history and brimming with a youthful vigor that proudly acknowledges its multi-layered past, Malaga is the city that gave the world Picasso, today continuing its artful heritage with half a dozen new art galleries, a radically rethought port area, and a nascent art district called Soho.
