International House Valencia
As part of the 60-year-old International House World Organization, Espanole International House Valencia provides the expertise students need to grow as Spanish speakers. Teachers use communicative-based teaching methods to ensure that students understand the material, and class sizes are kept to a minimum to accommodate a diverse body of students from around the world. Students can choose General Spanish, Business Spanish, University Preparation, or Exam Preparation (DELE, SIELE, and AESA). There is also an option to enter a work-study program, and students between the ages of fourteen and seventeen are able to enroll in a Spanish summer camp. Espanole International House Valencia provides students with an active social calendar, including at least four free events each week chaperoned by a teacher to guide students into speaking with locals, though students may also attend additional paid excursions. Students can choose from a variety of shared residences and apartments or stay with a local host family.
City Name | Valencia
Population: 798,033
The port city of Valencia, Spain’s third-largest city, lies on the country’s southeastern coast where the Turia River meets the Mediterranean Sea. While the city contains many monuments, Valencia’s modern crown jewel is the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex of museums, cinemas, theaters, and more. A glorious green ribbon of park winds right through this wonderfully livable city that is characterized by its thriving cultural, eating and nightlife scenes. Brilliant contemporary buildings grace the city along with a handful of fabulous Modernista buildings, great museums, a long stretch of beach and a large old quarter. The city’s old center is full of character, with a knot of little streets and splendid medieval buildings like the UNESCO-listed Lonja de la Seda.
