Adelaide is the capital city of the state of South Australia, located on the Adelaide Plains between the Gulf St Vincent and the surrounding Mount Lofty Ranges. The city is sophisticated, cultured, and between the lively arts and music scene and the bursting city calendar, never has a dull weekend night. Adelaide is sometimes referred to as the “City of Churches” due to its heritage of religious freedom and political progressiveness. Today however, quirky pubs and cafes outnumber church spires and streets are being filled up by international cuisine and multicultural flavors. Fringe and film events can be seen at the annual international arts gathering known as the Adelaide Festival and renowned museums throughout the city display expansive collections and indigenous art.
