Applied Science University is a private university located in the Al-Eker area, south of Manama, in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It was established in 2004 after obtaining official approval from the Council of Ministers and the Higher Education Council in Bahrain, making it one of the earliest private universities in the country. The university was founded with the aim of enhancing the quality of higher education and meeting the needs of the local, regional, and international communities by offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs that integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application and prepare students effectively for the labor market. The university also seeks

to support Bahrain’s economic and social development and to develop students’ skills through a modern educational environment and internationally recognized academic standards. Several tourist attractions are located near the university, including Bahrain Fort, water parks, Exhibition Road, the Bahrain National Museum, the Grand Mosque, and Manama Souq. It was also ranked among the top 30 universities in the Arab world according to the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2026, and it is considered the highest-ranked university in Bahrain based on the QS global rankings, surpassing other universities in the Kingdom. The university offers a wide range of academic programs and courses across various disciplines, including bachelor’s degrees in Law, Accounting, Business Administration, Political Science, Interior Design, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Management Information Systems, and Finance and Accounting. It also offers bridging programs that qualify students to enter engineering fields in cooperation with London South Bank University in the United Kingdom, such as Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In addition, the university provides several master’s degree programs in the aforementioned disciplines.
