It was officially established on July 1, 2016, as a result of the merger between the Kecskemét and Szolnok colleges and adopted its current name on August 1, 2017, in honor of the renowned Hungarian-American scientist John von Neumann. Despite its recent foundation, the university builds on a rich academic heritage spanning decades. The Faculty of Engineering in Kecskemét, considered the university’s legal predecessor, was founded in 1964. In 2000, several colleges merged to form Kecskemét College, which later evolved into John von Neumann University. The university aim
