About the university

The University of South Carolina (USC) is a co-educational research university in Columbia, South Carolina, United States, with seven satellite campuses. The Palmetto State(SC) established South Carolina College as part of an effort to unite South Carolinians in the wake of the American Revolution. USC is one of 62 public and 32 private research institutions and one of two universities in South Carolina classified a research institution of "very high research activity." With more than 100 nationalities, and all 50 states are represented, USC university is a member of the SEC Academic Consortium. Palmetto’s weather is almost warm during the year and as such students have many options full of

activities among the studying hours. While the city has a rich history, there are many theaters and a lot of museums located at SC's downtown. Beyond all the attractive actions, Palmetto beach it would be the destination to get over the school’s matters. Basically, “Our student-athletes put up some impressive numbers, on the scoreboard and in the classroom. We compete at the highest level in the tough Southeastern Conference and that's why, as Gamecocks, our spirit has no limits.”

University Location

South Carolina is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. The state can be divided into three geographic areas. From east to west: the Atlantic coastal plain, the Piedmont, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. On another hand, one of the nation's major performing arts festivals, Spoleto Festival USA, which is held annually in Charleston. There are also countless local festivals throughout the state highlighting many cultural traditions, historical events, and folklore. Moreover, during

the economic downturn in the Late 2000s Recession, South Carolina's Unemployment Rate peaked at 12.0% in 2009. While recently, many large corporations have moved their locations to South Carolina such as, Boeing when it has opened an aircraft manufacturing facility in Charleston in 2011.
